Like if they have their own Worlds or Champions event for Project L (but probably on a much smaller budget/scale since I doubt it'll get remotely the budget Valorant or League gets) and people qualify for that by playing in Riot's own organized regional events, where does Evo really fit in there and if it doesn't fit in there, why would the Project L community care about Evo? But using Evo for easy marketing isn't really the same as including it in its eSports circuit. Sure the game is at Evo now with a demo and an announcement.

It's pretty much all mostly interest in their own leagues (VCT EMEA, VCT Americas, VCT Pacific/LCS, LEC, LPL, LCK) or the big international tournaments (Masters, Champions/MSI, Worlds). There's generally no actual big third party tournaments that the community cares about asides from occasionally tourneys done by popular streamers or orgs involving streamers mostly for fun (for example the Ludwig x Tarik invitational or the CR Cup). I'm sure Evo obviously would want to be included, but Riot Games is kinda known for wanting to be in control and generally being very strict on third party tournaments. Riot Games tend to organize all the big tournaments of their own games including of course their tier 1 regional leagues for League and Valo. I wonder how important Evo will actually be for this game.

Yeah haha, let's just say that the camera is at a slanted angle making them look as tall 😂. Given it's also a more 1v1 game, where communication apart from your duo is not needed, I don't hope there's a post lobby situation (although games like Rocket League still have them 😂, so who knows). Not that it's all rose-colored perfect in any of their games, there's still big issues (e.g. Looking at how Valorant has made strides for reporting and community moderation, I hope project L sees the same things. So I don't forsee Project L having necessarily the same toxicity level as league. I hope it get polished more, but I think it looks good.įor project L there'll be an audience base reset, not all league players will have a lot of staying power if FGC is not their thing. I think regarding the graphics, I've read similar responses to valorant haha. Moreover, I hope they can also build up a tournament like Valorant Game changer's. Valorant has grown so big in such a short time and I think for some it would've been more interesting if project L had its own characters even if they end up being similair Akali and Jett, Zeri & Neon, Ekko & Gekko. TFT has its own scene, but smaller and niche. Although it's going to be interesting on how they'll go in this direction, wild-rift has pretty much died down and that is also a league spin-off (I think only in Asia there is a official tournament scene). I think the Duo mechanics is really interesting, especially from a tournament perspective. I would 100% rebuy Battlecast Cho'Gath, Pulsefire Ez/Cait, etc. And honestly I'd be disappointed I like having some cool skins in League and fighting games and the like. I have a hard time believing a game from Riot wouldn't be tooled for easily building new skins for characters. On the one hand, that seems very much like ASW titles. It sounded like the characters had a bunch of colors, but no different costumes, in this demo. Most other 3D fighters, it's just the body itself that's animated, and there's some other system handling costumes and clothing, so you can just kinda drape whatever over the character and it'll work. So the animation of a character isn't just them moving their limbs around and such, it's also their costume. This includes things like, character's coats/cloaks and whatever bits of their costume. Rough explanation from a non-animator (and I could be wrong): The way that ASW animates things, there's a lot of hand placement going on to get the anime look while using 3D graphics.
